Abstract
Thus, the main features of two approaches to the formation of the model of illumination of anisotropic surfaces are determined. The Ashikhmin-Shirley model as a micro-faceted approach and the KMBK function as a wave approach to the formation of visually realistic images of objects with rough surfaces are analyzed. Each of the approaches is appropriate to use with strict requirements for realism because their calculation requires a lot of time
