The theoretical aspects of small innovative business are considered. The essence of this sector, its characteristic features, in particular flexibility, speed of adaptation to changes and high level of risk, as well as the peculiarities of functioning in modern market conditions are outlined. Special attention is paid to the importance of state support and investments for stimulating innovative activity.
