Abstract

The paper analyzes the environmental aspects of mineral extraction and proposes measures to improve the environmental safety of mining in Vinnytsia region. The assessment and calculations of the technogenic impact of mining activities on air, risks and health of the population, aquatic ecosystems, soils, climate, flora and fauna are described. Measures have been developed to minimize the environmental impact of mining activities. An overview of the mineral resources of Vinnytsia region is provided, promising deposits for industrial development are analyzed, post-mining measures for mining facilities are studied, environmental problems associated with mining activities are analyzed, the impact of mining operations on erosion processes, soil degradation, and local climatic conditions was investigated. The environmental risks associated with technological processes of mining were analyzed, and the use of "green" technologies was reviewed to improve the environmental condition of mining facilities and mining activities, and to predict positive socio-economic effects. The purpose of the work is to develop a set of environmental safety measures for mining enterprises of the Vinnytsia region, which would ensure the sustainable functioning of the mining industry with minimal impact on ecosystems.
