Abstract

In the textbook the theory and practical work in the operating system Linux are studied. The text user interface (the commands of operating system, programming language of bash shell) and graphic user interface (window managers, display managers, desktops KDE and GNOME) are studied in detail. The basic functions of system administrator and concepts about processes are considered also. The practical textbook is intended for the students of bachelor direction “Computer engineering”, “Information security”, “Computer sciences” and “Computer Electronics” for the study of the disciplines of "System software", “Operating systems”, “Programming and algorithmic languages” and others.
