Abstract

The article examines the experience of leading US universities (MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Caltech, University of Pennsylvania) in switching to an online learning format during the COVID-19 pandemic. Particular attention is paid to the potential for long-term changes in the learning process and the organisation of the educational environment. The use of online platforms, blended learning, hybrid teaching models, and new approaches to assessment have become key elements in the adaptation of universities to the new environment. The pandemic has become a catalyst for experimenting with educational practices that may remain relevant in the post-pandemic period.
