Abstract

The proposed refractometer for measuring the refraction index and refraction index gradient contains an optical radiation source and a semitransparent mirror. The input section of the semitransparent mirror is optically coupled with the optical radiation source, and the first output section is optically coupled with the horizontal input opening of a cubic cuvette containing tested substance. Additionally, the refractometer contains: a reflecting mirror, having an input section coupled optically with the second output of the semitransparent mirror, and an output section coupled optically with the vertical opening of the cuvette; reflecting mirrors for the horizontal and vertical optical beams, the output sections of which are optically coupled accordingly with the horizontal and vertical openings of the cuvette; a three-edge prism, two input sections of which are optically coupled with the corresponding output sections of the reflecting mirrors; a multielement photoreceiver, the input section of which is optically coupled with the output sections of the prism.
