Abstract

Climate change has caused a significant decrease in the flow of fresh water to the estuary both in the form of runoff of rivers and in the form of precipitation. There was a decrease in water level in the estuary and increase its salinity, which compromised the healing properties of water and mud. The reckless economic activities within the catchment area of ​​the Kuyalnitsky estuary led to the cultivation of land to the water cut, the destruction of forests and flood plains, the placement of livestock farms in water protection zones, the creation of a large number of shallow ponds and small reservoirs that play the role of artificial evaporators.
