Abstract

Attention is paid to the analysis of modern principles and requirements for electrical safety in relation to electrical installations, systems and equipment. Currently, regulatory documents define the basic rule for protecting people and animals from electric shock: dangerous conductive parts should not be accessible, and accessible conductive parts should not be dangerous both under normal conditions (operation as intended and no malfunction) and under the condition of a single malfunction. Protection under normal conditions is provided by basic protection. Protection in the presence of a single malfunction is provided by protection provided in the event of a malfunction. Reinforced protective devices are also used, providing protection in both cases.
