Abstract

Southern Bug as one of the major rivers in Ukraine is characterized by a number of specific features, characteristics of the formation of runoff, the use of resources, composition and dynamics of hydrobionts. The watershed area is completely located within the country and the river flows through five areas. It is distinguished by high regulation, developed agricultural sector of the catchment area. These factors, as well as a number of large cities, energy facilities and industry, cause a specific anthropogenic load, which primarily manifests itself in the enrichment of water with nutrients, in particular nitrogen and phosphorus compounds.
