Abstract

The paper substantiates the relevance of capturing and analyzing emotional reactions of online audiences when interacting with digital content. An approach to emotion-oriented online surveys is proposed using emotional evaluation sliders and subsequent analytics of the collected data. The CollEmPoll web platform is implemented to collect emotional assessments and compare respondents by emotional similarity. To identify users with close emotional profiles, correlation analysis based on Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient is applied. A general overview of the system architecture, key functionalities, and practical applicability is provided.
