Abstract

The article analyzes the use of straw and its products as environmentally friendly, accessible and cheap material for the construction of modern energy efficient and low-rise housing. The modern methods of construction of the walls enclosing structures made of straw on the basis of foreign and domestic experience in construction were analyzed. An pros and cons of different ways of placing construction walls with straw were listed. It was found that the cost of 1m2 space straw house much cheaper than the average market price of traditional housing ranging from 90 to 150 $. It is shown that the specific cost of heating a house with straw blocks almost three times lower than brick house and half the house with silicate blocks.
