Вплив Першої світової війни на телефонний і поштовий зв`язок: соціальний аспект (на прикладі міст Правобережної України)

Abstract

The peculiarities of telephone and mail function in the Right-bank Ukraine towns in 1914-1917 and their influence on town daily life are elucidated by the author in the article. The measures of the powers directed to control set of communication means are examined. The necessity of telephone communication improvement in the region towns is proved to increase. The shortage of materials, equipment and qualified staff took place on the way of telephone nets expansion. At the same time the mail loading increased abruptly because of communication necessity between rear population and those mobilized to the army. The author came to a conclusion that during the First World War the quality of telephone and mail communication in towns was too poor. It was conditioned by economical factors and military censorship. All this affected psychoemotional state of users increasing social tension in town surroundings.
