Abstract

The proposed method for determining heat power consumed by users of a water heating system involves measuring water consumption for the whole heating system and for each of the individual sections of the heating system, calculating the heat power loss within each heating system section containing the rooms occupied by an individual user connected to the heating system as the product of a water specific heat, a water flow rate, and water temperature difference at the inlet and outlet of the room, determining the total heat power loss as the sum of the heat power losses within the corresponding section of the heating system, and calculating the total heat power loss for the whole building as the product of a water specific heat, a water flow rate, and water temperature difference at the inlet and outlet of the building. The heat power consumed by an individual user in a building is determined as the product of the heat power loss for that user rooms and the total heat power loss within the building divided by the total heat power consumed by all the users in a building.
