Abstract

The peculiarities of electric supply of the towns of Podillia in the period of the First World War in the context of town daily life history of the region are analyzed on the base of archival documents and periodical press. The objective and subjective factors that had negative influence on the process of electric power production and electric nets spreading for the population needs in the towns of the province of Podillia are established. The activity of local self–government bodies for the provision of electric power stations with raw materials and technical equipment is described. The measures of local powers directed to the street electrical lighting are educated. The periodical attempts of the municipality of Vinnytsia to increase the industrial capacity of town electric power station during the investigated period are shown.
