Abstract

The proposed method for transmitting data consists in reading data byte from a data carrier, isolating main harmonic from each square pulse corresponding to the data bit, transmitting pulse signals over a communication line, determining the pulse amplitudes at fixed time instants, and comparing the said amplitudes with a threshold value. At the data transmitter, the operations are performed for determining the length of the time interval required for transmitting each bit pulse, on the basis of a specified data transmission rate, forming start pulse for each data byte, and sequentially transmitting eight data bits and the start pulse within the time intervals equal to the length of the time interval required for transmitting each bit pulse. At the data receiver, the operations are performed for combining the nine received pulses into one packet, isolating the start pulse by its amplitude, forming data byte, and recording the byte to the data carrier.

The proposed device for data transmission contains a communication line, equipment for transmitting and receiving data, nine narrow-band filters, a personal computer with corresponding hardware and software, a comparator, a reference voltage source, two parallel ports, a summing unit, and a programmable timer.
