Abstract

A device for controlling life of high-voltage air circuit breakers comprises current probes, pressure and switching sensors as well as a life and mechanical counters, a commutation time evaluator, a synchronization unit, an analog-to-digital conversion unit measuring and computing a current amplitude at the current probe output by its distorted pickup signal. At the moment of current flow through a circuit-breaker the value of this current as well as the air-compressed pressure value are stored and re-computed for switching off a nominal operating current. In the life counter actuation of the breaker at the moment of commutation is accounted.
