Abstract

The issue of assessing the impact of man-made objects on the state of the environment is one of the central problems of applied ecology. First of all, it concerns the forecasting of pollution of the components of the environment. There are known and well-founded models of the spread of pollutants in the air, the processes of mixing and dilution in surface waters, but there are no generally accepted methods for soils. This is due to the complex structure (discreteness and heterogeneity) of soils, as well as the inter-component ways of pollutant migration. One of the most important problems is obtaining reliable models of distribution in the soil of oil and petroleum products.
