Abstract

The article examines the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the features of interpre- tation in English. Thanks to the development of machine learning, neural networks and natural language processing algorithms, automated translation technologies are increasingly integrated into the professional activities of translators, changing traditional methods of work. The main advantages and challenges of using AI tools in simultaneous and consecutive translation are analyzed. Automated systems can speed up the translation process, increase accuracy and help reduce the cognitive load on translators. At the same time, artificial intelligence technologies have limitations, in particular in contextual analysis, the transmission of cultural features and the recognition of ambiguous expressions. Special attention is paid to the comparison of traditional and AI-assisted translation, as well as the role of automatic speech recognition, speech synthesis and neural network translators. The use of such technologies can simplify the work of translators, but requires new skills of adaptation and control over the quality of translation. Aspects of ethics and responsibility in the use of automated translation systems are considered. Despite the increasing level of autonomy of AI, human control remains a key factor in ensuring the accuracy, reliability and adequacy of translation, especially in areas even minor errors can have serious consequences. It is concluded that AI tools are a powerful addition to the professional activities of translators, but cannot completely replace human intelligence, intuition and flexibility in decision-making. The future of interpretation involves effective synergy between humans and technologies, which will contribute to improving the quality and efficiency of translation work.
