Abstract

The regulatory framework for handling electronic waste, which poses a significant environmental threat due to the rapid growth in its quantity and the presence of toxic substances, has been analyzed. Key international acts, including the Basel Convention and the EU WEEE Directive, which establish rules for regulating the transboundary movement and disposal of electronic waste, are reviewed. An analysis of Ukraine's national legislation, including the "Law on Waste" and the National Waste Management Strategy, is also presented. The challenges in implementing legislation are discussed, and recommendations for improvement are provided, including extending producer responsibility, developing recycling infrastructure, and raising public environmental awareness
