Abstract

The paper investigates approaches to automating procurement processes in food service establishments using web technologies. The problem of manual comparison of supplier proposals, which is labor-intensive and errorprone, is addressed. Existing analogues — MarketMan, Apicbase, and Supy — are analyzed, and their common drawback is identified: orientation toward large businesses without support for flexible supplier selection. A web system is proposed that automates supplier selection based on a comprehensive evaluation of product price, delivery cost and time, and supplier rating. Services for authorization, menu management, and supplier browsing have been implemented. It is shown that the use of an optimality scoring algorithm improves the validity of supplier selection and reduces costs for food service establishments.
