Abstract

The proposed method for measuring humidity implies measuring voltage at the reference resistor and the capacitive detecting element of the humidity transducer at the direct voltage and the alternating voltage of the power supply. To determine the humidity, the following equation is used:

where A is the proportionality factor, U1 is the voltage at the reference resistor at the alternating power-supply voltage, U2 is the voltage at the reference resistor at the direct power-supply voltage, U3 is the voltage at the capacitive detective element at the direct power-supply voltage, U4 is the voltage at the capacitive detective element at the alternating power-supply voltage, and w is the angular frequency of alternating current. The advantage of the proposed method is its enhanced measurement accuracy due to the exclusion of errors caused by the instability of electric loss in the materials of the reference resistor and the capacitive detecting element of the humidity transducer.
