The context of global transformations requires transformative strategies of higher education aimed at forming an autonomous individual that can overcome risks and respond to the challenges of globalization and informationalism as a new way of civilization development. The implementation of transformative higher education strategies in the content aspect requires interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary methodological approaches to the process of transformative adult learning aimed at development an "Holistic Subjectivity", and not only its rationally-cognitive components. Within the framework of this holistic approach, the question arises of the nature of the transformative changes in the basic ontological anthropological component of the educational process, namely, the phenomenon of the Self. In order to clarify the directions and tasks of transformative learning, the dynamics of the phenomenon of self is examined against the background of a change in the conceptual landscape of culture. Based on the application of transdisciplinary approaches the relevance of the concept of the transversal self is substantiated as a process-dialogue unity of differences in the liminal space at the global and individual levels.
