dc.description.abstractA scientific and technical approach to substantiating the application of gas-insulated switchgear during the reconstruction and restoration of damaged substations is proposed. It is shown that under current conditions the selection of GIS should be determined not only by compactness and electrical reliability, but also by the ability to provide physically protected arrangement, reduce construction and installation time, localize damage, and increase substation survivability. The need to consider equipment life cycle, gas monitoring, environmental restrictions on SF6, and the prospects for gradual transition to alternative gas-insulated technologies is substantiated.en
