Анотація
The article examines modern approaches to foreign language teaching that focus not only on the formation of linguistic competence, but also on the development of the personality of the higher education applicant, their value orientations and tolerant attitude towards other cultures. The role of the sociocultural component in foreign language teaching, as well as the possibilities of using innovative methods and technologies to achieve the goal, are analyzed.
