The physical principles underlying the exceptionally high electrical conductivity of graphene are investigated. The unique electronic structure of graphene with Dirac cone and massless Dirac fermions is analyzed. The mechanisms of charge carrier scattering, the role of defects and the influence of substrate are considered. A comparative characteristic of graphene conductivity with other materials is provided, and prospects for its application in nanoelectronics are substantiated.
