Abstract

To date, the EU Water Framework Directive is the Water Framework Directive (Directive No. 2000/60 / EC of 23 October 2000) defining a strategy for water management in order to achieve a sustainable, good environmental status of the aquatic environment. One of the key features of the assessment of aquatic ecosystems in accordance with the requirements of the Water Framework Directive (WFD), in contrast to domestic assessment systems, is the analysis of biotic indicators. According to the WFD in rivers and lakes, only biological indicators such as phytoplankton, macrophytes and phytobenthos, the fauna of the bottom invertebrates, and fish are determined.
