Семантична класифікація українських фразеологізмів із компонентом-зоонімом (на матеріалі "Українсько-російського словника" А. Ніковського)

Abstract

In the article the features of semantics and national-cultural content of phraseologisms with component-zoonim on the material of the «Ukrainian-Russian dictionary» by A. Nikovskyi (1926) are investigated. It is established that stable language formations, which include the name of the animal, function as reproducible metaphorical, mostly expressive, linguistic units of secondary denomination. Phraseologisms with component-zoonim, found in the dictionary, are structured according to the thematic principle into the following groups: actually zoophraseologisms, phraseologisms with the names of birds, phraseologisms with the names of insects, phraseologisms with names of reptiles and phraseologisms with the names of amphibians. The semantic types of phraseologisms with component-zoonim are singled out. It is proved that the use of animal names as components of phraseological units is motivated by national stereotypical representations of a particular animal.
