Abstract

The work examines social housing architecture, its development in world architectural practice, modern experience in designing affordable housing in different countries. It has been established that socio-economic, socio-demographic, climatic and ecological changes, expansion or relocation of settlements, changes in the functional orientation of residents' activities in combination with technical and technological development have led to changes in the life of an individual, his needs for comfortable, healthy, functional and accessible housing It was revealed that the basis of the formation of the architecture of social housing is its ability to provide the necessary needs of residents, to change in the process of functioning and operation of the building. When designing social housing, it is necessary to use effective and rational architectural techniques, the latest technical means, strive for the architectural expressiveness of the building and infrastructural support.
