Abstract

In the article the main problems of development of theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of the phenomenon of opportunism in the agricultural sector of Ukraine. Identified potential and prospects of the method of analysis of the processes of economic opportunism in the light of the theory of contract and agency relations. A specification for "opportunism" and considered its main manifestations in modern agriculture. The essence, causes and principles of opportunistic behavior that occurs between the main actors of the market agents to the specific type of imperfect competition in Ukraine. Emphasized the role of institutions in the context of combating opportunism in rural areas. The basic problem of state regulation of rural communities. Conceptual position on the need for institutions as a factor that is able to resist opportunistic behaviors. Determined that it is opportunistic behaviors caused dysfunction market reforms in Ukraine.
