Abstract

The proposed measuring transducer designed for measuring number of revolutions, angular velocity, and angular acceleration of a shaft contains a light source, a light flux modulator, a photodetector, and two slit diaphragms, which are installed between the modulator and the light source. The modulator contains a light-reflecting element, the surface of which is arranged in the plane that is perpendicular to the shaft axis. The involute of the surface of the light-reflecting element constitutes a right-angled triangle. The photodetector receives the light radiation that is reflected from the surface of the light-reflecting element. The output of the photodetector is connected to the output terminal of the transducer.
