Parametric Geometric Modeling in Solidworks when Studying the Discipline «Computer-Aided Design Systems»

Abstract

The article analyzes the step-by-step process of mastering parametric geometric modeling in SOLIDWORKS during the study of the discipline “Computer-Aided Design Systems” at the Department of Technology and Automation of Mechanical Engineering. The use of the basic principles of parametrization in the developed laboratory works for the training of engineering specialists is considered. The main advantages of applying parametric geometric modeling are formulated. It is recommended that students develop their skills in scientific student groups based on CAD/CAE/CAM technologies to acquire practical experience in geometric model parametrization.
