Abstract

The proposed method of signal analog-to-digital conversion consists in dividing the bit scale into exact and inexact bits and employing the self-calibration procedure using lower inexact bits. In converting process, the following operations are performed: applying an Al analog signal to the input of an analog-to-digital converter, carrying out the operation of bit-serial compensation of this signal by the analog compensating output signal of a digital-to-analog converter, forming and fixing a Ki code combination at the output of the analog-to-digital converter, repeatedly carrying out the operation of bit-serial compensation of the Al input signal and forming, as the result, the Kl" code combination, and determining the digital value of deviation that is recorded for the consequent use in self-calibration and conversion procedures. In self-calibration process, an Al, auxiliary signal is used. To generate the analog compensating signal, redundant measuring codes are used.
