Abstract

The accumulation of waste electrical and electronic equipment is accompanied by the gradual degradation of polymer components and the release of hazardous chemical compounds into environmental media. Long-term dispersion of these substances forms persistent pollution in soil, surface water, and air, creating risks for ecosystems and human health. The study substantiates the mechanisms of migration and transformation of degradation products and evaluates their potential ecological consequences. Particular attention is paid to secondary contamination processes and the formation of stable toxic fractions. The obtained results may be used to improve environmental safety management strategies for electronic waste.
