Abstract

The relevance of the use of organic building materials, namely timber, for the construction of defensive fortifications and other military structures is considered. The factors of destructive influence, which cause the need to improve the properties of wood in order to increase its efficiency and longevity, are analyzed. A method of timber modification that will improve its operational properties is proposed.
