Благодійництво як індикатор суспільних настроїв у містах Правобережної України в період Першої світової війни (1914–1917 рр.)

Abstract

The peculiarities of charity movement in the Right-Bank towns in 1914 – 1917 in the light of daily-life history investigation are elucidated in the article. It’s noted that at the beginning of the First World War this movement got mass character and involved all social lagers. The most spread types of charity and problems of philanthropists are shown here. The author realized the reasons of charity movement decline, which served an indicator of changes in public mood of region town population during the investigated period. The moral aspect of the so called tendency is emphasized.
