Feminist Philosophy in Brazil: From Nísia Floresta to Lélia Gonzalez

Abstract

This article deals with the trajectory of feminist philosophy in Brazil, Nísia Floresta, who introduced Mary Wollstonecraft&039;s ideas in the 19th century, to the reception of the second-wave feminism agendas among Brazilian activists and intellectuals, emphasizing the specificities of the national context, marked by the military dictatorship. It also presents the contributions of Lélia Gonzalez, whose pioneering works articulated gender, race and class the experience of black Latin American women, expanding epistemic boundaries. Thus, the text contributes to understanding the interactions between Brazilian feminist works and the global scenario of feminist thought, highlighting the local specificities and challenges that have marked this trajectory.

У статті розглядається траєкторія розвитку феміністичної філософії в Бразилії, від Нісії Флорести, яка познайомила публіку з ідеями Мері Волстонкрафт у ХІХ столітті, до сприйняття феміністичних програм другої хвилі серед бразильських активісток та інтелектуалок, підкреслюючи особливості національного контексту, позначеного військовою диктатурою. У ній також представлено внесок Лелії Ґонсалес, чиї новаторські праці висвітлювали ґендер, расу та клас на основі досвіду чорношкірих латиноамериканських жінок, розширюючи епістемічні межі.
