This paper presents a comparative analysis of two main 3D modeling methods: polygonal and CAD. It has been determined that polygonal modeling provides high flexibility and is used in the entertainment industry, while CAD modeling ensures high precision and is applied in engineering and architecture. The basic principles of 3D model creation, their characteristics, and features are considered. Promising directions for the development of 3D modeling, such as integration with virtual and augmented reality, as well as the use of neural networks, are characterized.
