Method as a System. Clemens Timpler and His Program for the Reform of Philosophy

Abstract

Концепція методу реконструюється в статті як організуючий принцип Тимплерового філософського проєкту. На відміну від наявних тлумачень Тимплера переважно як раміста, арістотеліанця чи еклектика, автор стверджує, що його доктрина методу постає як оригінальний синтез, заснований на об&039;єктивних законах порядку й на раціональних відношеннях, а не на природному порядку речей. У статті показано, як Тимплерова концепція методу об&039;єднує логіку, метафізику й інші науки в єдиній програмі реформи філософії, базованій на принципово новому погляді на науку, науковий і соціальний прогрес. Автор припускає, що ця концепція постає як важливий етап у виникненні методичної традиції в німецькій філософії.

This article reconstructs Timpler&039;s concept of the method as the organizing principle of his philosophical project. In contrast to interpretations that view him primarily as a Ramist, Aristotelian, or eclectic, it is argued that his doctrine of method represents an original synthesis based on objective laws of order and rational relations rather than on the natural order of things. The article shows how Templer&039;s concept of method unites logic, metaphysics, and other sciences in a single program for the reform of philosophy based on a fundamentally new view of science, scientific, and social progress, and suggests that it represents an important stage in the emergence of a methodical tradition in German philosophy.
