Філософський переклад як прояв філософської культури

Abstract

У статті описано теоретичні принципи аналізу перекладів як проявів філософської культури. За допомогою текстологічного аналізу автори застосовують ці принципи до рукопису створеного в 1920-х роках українського перекладу приписуваного Гельвецієві твору «Справжній сенс системи природи» (1774). Аналіз розкриває ключові риси філософської культури, втіленої в цьому перекладі: відсутність у перекладача та редакторів формальної філософської підготовки поряд з їхньою досить високою загальною гуманітарною освітою; їх переважну орієнтацію на стандарти літературного перекладу; високу редакційну ретельність у поєднанні з браком можливостей для реалізації її вимог. Дослідження доводить, що ці риси були притаманні також українській культурі філософського перекладу на рубежі 1970-х років, що мала загалом нижчі стандарти порівняно з 1920-ми роками.

This article describes the theoretical principles of analyzing translations as manifestations of philosophical culture. Through textual analysis, the authors applies these principles to the 1920s manuscript of the Ukrainian translation of the work attributed to Helvetius, “The True Meaning of the System of Nature” (1774). The analysis reveals the key features of the philosophical culture embodied in this translation: the translator and editors&039; lack of formal philosophical training alongside their strong education in the humanities; their predominant orientation towards literary translation standards; and relatively high editorial rigor combined with a lack of opportunities for its implementation. Finally, the study proves that these features were also inherent in the Ukrainian culture of philosophical translation at the turn of the 1970s, marked by lower standards compared to the 1920s.
