Abstract

Cultural resistance is examined as a complex phenomenon emerging in response to domination or cultural homogenization. Theoretical approaches from Gramsci to contemporary cultural studies are considered. The forms of its manifestation are analyzed, from art and subcultures to digital practices. Its functions are defined, from identity assertion to social criticism. Examples substantiate its role as a mechanism for sustaining cultural diversity and an agent of change.
