Критика заперечення свободи волі Діком Сваабом

Abstract

Dick Swaab, known researcher of brain physiology, denies free will and considers it as an illusion. His conception is based on the understanding of man as a purely biological being that is determined only by the body and the environment. I argue that this theory is not well founded, because a) the complexity of human behavior is not explicable only by biology and environment (because this explanation is based on the thesis that must be prove); b) freedom is a philosophical, not a scientific concept, so every scientist that studies human behavior, already has some philosophical hypothesis, impossible to be confirmed by the facts.
