Мова як шлях до пізнання (Платонів “Кратил” в українському озвученні)

Abstract

Автор першого українського перекладу Платоноваго «Кратила» (див. вище, сс. 108-140) вказує на труднощі в роботі з грецьким текстом, наголошуючи на зовнішньому і внутрішньому. аспектах зазначеих труднощів. Зовнішній аспект полягає в різній етимології грецьких і українських слів, внутрішній – у проблемі вибору між «латинізацією» та «українізацією» перекладеного тексту. Автор обирає одним зі своїх перекладацьких принципів відмову від надмірної латинізації та обґрунтовує свій вибір.The translator of the first Ukrainian version of Plato’s Cratylus (see above, p. ..) indicates the difficulties in translating the dialogue, emphasizing the external and internal aspects of those difficulties. The external aspect consists in the different etymology of Greek and Ukrainian words, and the internal one lays in the problem of choice between “Latinization” and “Ukrainization” of the translated text. The author made one of his translation principles to avoid excessive Latinization and justifies his decision.
