| dc.description.abstract | Begin the abstract two lines below author names and addresses. The abstract summarizes key findings in the paper. It is a paragraph of 250 words or less. The abstract section should be self-contained (i.e., no numerical references) and substantive in nature, presenting concisely the objectives, methodology used, results obtained, and their significance. Avoid use of equations and complex fractions. Adequate respiratory function, which depends on nasal airway patency, is critical for human health. Disorders affecting the nasal cavity often require surgical intervention to restore normal airflow, but its complex anatomy demands precise preoperative planning. This study describes an approach to simulate soft tissue deformation in the nasal cavity using the SOFA Framework, an open-source biomechanical modeling platform. By integrating patient-specific CT data, we demonstrate the framework’s ability to simulate surgical outcomes, focusing on the biomechanical behavior of anatomically accurate structures. The results highlight the potential of this approach to enhance surgical training and preoperative strategy planning. Real-time implementation of such simulations could reduce intraoperative risks and improve postoperative outcomes, contributing to personalized treatment strategies in otolaryngology. | en |
