Abstract

It is emphasized that the problem of municipal solid waste is urgent and quite acute for Ukraine. Waste generation is increasing, while a significant proportion of this waste is disposed of in landfills and landfills that are located, designed and operated improperly, resulting in negative impacts on the environment and human health. The coverage of waste collection services in many localities is insufficient, which leads to unauthorized disposal of waste and associated negative impacts.

Підкреслено, що проблема твердих побутових відходів є актуальною і досить гострою для України. Утворення відходів зростає, тоді як значна частка цих відходів видаляється на полігонах та звалищах, які розміщені, спроектовані та експлуатуються неналежним чином, наслідком чого є негативний вплив на навколишнє середовище та здоров’я людини. Охоплення послугами збирання відходів у багатьох населених пунктах є недостатнім, що призводить до несанкціонованого розміщення відходів та пов’язаних з цим негативних факторів впливу.
