Abstract

Even before the advent of geographical science, people knew how to navigate the world around them. In practice, they learned the features of the nature of their area and through observation and savvy survived in unsafe environment. The notion of the laws of nature and society was formed on the basis of experience, but their understanding, depicted in myths and fairy tales, has more signs of science fiction than reality.
