A comparative analysis of two leading management concepts - Lean and Theory of Constraints (TOC) methodologies in the context of their application in manufacturing enterprises is proposed. The key principles of each methodology are studied, the industries of their greatest distribution and implementation features are analyzed. The main differences in approaches to production management are identified and prospects for the application of these concepts in Ukrainian enterprises are outlined. It is established that Lean focuses on systematic waste elimination, while TOC concentrates on managing system constraints.
