This paper proposes a method for universal statistical steganalysis of digital images based on the analysis of higher-order moments (skewness and kurtosis) and the application of the Pearson's chi-square goodness-of-fit criterion. It is substantiated that the use of higher-order statistics allows for the detection of microscopic deformations in the container structure that remain undetected by traditional methods at low embedding rates. The proposed approach enables the automation of the anomaly detection process and does not require a priori knowledge of the specific steganographic embedding algorithm.
