The report examines the problem of phantom limb pain and the prospects for its reduction using combined adaptive stimulation. The proposed approach is based on the integration of electrical, mechanical, thermal, and optical stimulation to create a multimodal sensory effect on the patient’s nervous system. The mechanisms of different stimulation methods, principles of adaptive control based on biological feedback, and possibilities for integrating the system into prosthetic sockets or rehabilitation bandages are described. The advantages, limitations, and prospects of multimodal neuroengineering systems for the rehabilitation of amputee patients and the reduction of phantom pain manifestations are analyzed.
