Гравітаційні хвилі та їх відкриття

Abstract

The report examines the nature of gravitational waves as oscillations of space-time. The history of their prediction by Albert Einstein and experimental confirmation by the LIGO and Virgo collaborations are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the importance of this discovery for the verification of general relativity.

У доповіді розглянуто природу гравітаційних хвиль як коливань простору-часу. Проаналізовано історію їх передбачення Альбертом Ейнштейном та експериментальне підтвердження олабораціями LIGO та Virgo. Особливу увагу приділено значенню цього відкриття для верифікації загальної теорії відносності.
