The article considers the features and trends of modern development of the domestic hotel business. The analysis of the structure of the modern tourism industry with the definition of the place and role of the hotel business in it, the genesis and trends of its development in the region and abroad are studied. The article is devoted to the consideration of the methodology of conducting a regional study of the demand for social hotel services.
